Erik Alvar is a NYC based multi-instrumentalist performer and educator. Originally from Melbourne Beach, Florida, he grew up performing with his dad and brother. Alvar holds a degree in commercial music from Florida State University and a masters in classical bass performance from the University of Florida. Between studies Alvar lived in Nashville for several years touring and recording with artists including Billy Strings, Jim Hurst, Rebecca Frazier, and several theater shows including the second national tour of A Christmas Stroy the Musical.

Private lessons offered in person and online for upright bass, electric bass (bass guitar), mandolin, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukelele, tenor banjo, 5-string banjo (three-finger and clawhammer/frailing), mountain dulcimer, and music theory
Available or in-person and remote studio sessions on any of the above instruments. For home recording I run a UA Apollo Quad V2 with a full spectrum of mics including AKG, Telefunken, Shure, and DPA
